Robert C. "Bob" Butt, 57, of Moline, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, in his home.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where Moline American Legion Post 246 will present military honors. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for his granddaughter.
Robert Christopher Butt was born Sept. 7, 1948, in Moline, son of Robert M. and Lois Hollmer Butt. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanical engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal for many years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Moline Lodge 1014, AF & AM, and Moline American Legion Post 246. He enjoyed classic cars.
Bob is survived by a son, Bradley Butt, and his partner, Kandie Maze, Casper, Wyo.; a daughter, Melissa Butt, Moline; a granddaughter, Mikaela Alexandria Slay; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Diane Butt, East Moline; and special friends, Lee Moens and Jim Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Daniel and Jeffrey Butt.
